Alika talks about the role of honesty in his recovery journey. He stated that he had to learn how to tell the truth. He said there is nothing harder that he has ever had to do than be honest with himself. Alika states that the more good decisions he made in recovery the easier it got. The more bad decisions he made the harder it got.

He told us at one point he was going to church because he knew it would be good for him but he was still doing lines in church and he couldn't stop telling lies. He discovered that telling the truth gave him the same relief that alcohol did and was the foundation of his recovery.
