My journey in healing started when I lost my mother at a young age because with that experience I thought I lost a part of myself too. There are only so many detours that one person can make in their life until they are finally faced with the realization that they have to face what’s inside. Face the grief and the pain, the hurt that’s buried so deep within themselves, that perhaps the first step is to just pause and realize that the pain is there. It does not matter the amount of time it takes because it is personal and sacred for each individual regardless of what kind of struggles they are facing. I continue to grow with each present moment as I take what ones hurt and make it beautiful, nurture it, and let it go. I have learned that we don’t have to stand alone in the face of pain, sometimes someone’s presence and ability to be a mirror can open up so much more space in our hearts, with that we then slowly can accept the idea of being a human, an individual, and just as much part of this thing we call life.
